PRELIMINARIES

PRELIMINARY 1 - CHARACTER INTRODUCTION:

For my first preliminary I had to make a video containing 6 shots and camera angles and edit it with music. I had a difficult time making this project, the project you see here is actually my second try. As I struggled with finding good equipment to film with.

Script of the first preliminary

The camera I had available is Nikon D3400 (The Nikon D3400 is a 24.2 MP entry-level DSLR known for its sharp image quality, lightweight design, and long battery life. It features an 11-point autofocus system, Full HD 1080p video recording at 60 fps, and an ISO range of 100-25,600, making it decent for low-light photography). I ended up filming this project outside my house. The song I choose for this is "FEELINGS BY OLLIE". I use CapCut to edit this video and stitching all the clips together.

PRELIMINARY 2:

For my second preliminary I had to make a video containing 6 shots and camera angles and edit it with music. My friend helped me in this project and we shoot this near my house market. We didn't face any difficulty while shooting this preliminary.

The camera I use for this is Nikon D3400, the same I used for my first preliminary. I ended up filming this project near my house. And I use CapCut to edit this video and stitching all the clips together. The song I choose for this is "Beabadoobee - Coffee".

EDITING:

For my first preliminary, I didn’t add any voiceover, I simply chose a song from YouTube and added it. The editing was easy, I gathered all the clips in one place, joined them, and added the song. To make the clips look more realistic, I used black fade.

2nd PRELIMINARY:

My second preliminary is very similar to the first one. I didn’t face any difficulty while making it, I simply gathered all the clips, added a song, and didn’t use any voiceover. I also used black fades in this version.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND PRE PRODUCTION

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND PRE PRODUCTION  WHY DO AN ELECTRONIC? I chose electronic music because of its energy, depth, and ability to create immersive soundscapes that perfectly fit my project. The way synths, basslines, and effects blend together pushed my creativity in ways no other genre could. With animatics, I could sync sound design, music, and visuals seamlessly, bringing out the emotion and movement in the soundtrack. WHY CHOOSE PRESENCE? I picked 'JUST HOLD ON'  by 'PRESENCE' because the message really hit home for me. It’s all about pushing through tough times and staying strong, which is something a lot of people can relate to, especially when things feel overwhelming. I wanted to capture that feeling of resilience and strength in a way that felt true to the song. The idea of holding on through difficult moments and not giving up just felt like the kind of story I wanted to share, and I thought it would connect with others who have gone through similar struggles...

FINAL PROJECT AND DEVELOPMENT

FINAL PROJECT: POSTER: SCRIPT: STORYBOARDING: CHARACTER PROFILES: THE ACTOR: The protagonist of my music video is a young male struggling with loneliness, anxiety, and emotional pain . At the start, his slow movements, lowered gaze, and dark surroundings reflect his hopelessness. His si mple, dark outfit enhances the moody atmosphere. As the video progresses, subtle changes in lighting, body language, and expressions show his journey toward hope and resilience . By the end, he appears slightly stronger, symbolizing the message of holding on despite hardships . CHARACTER MOOD BOARD PLAYED BY: AFFAN SCREEN PLAY: We spent time brainstorming different concepts, exploring various themes before deciding on an emotional and introspective narrative. I immediately had a vision for the project, I wanted a story that didn’t rely too much on acting but conveyed deep emotions through visuals. This allowed us to focus on composition, lighting, and narrative techniques, ensuring the video loo...
